Mr Smith is training to be a teacher this year so will share teaching responsibilities with Ms Sedgwick.

PE takes place on Tuesday afternoons so please ensure PE kits are in school. PE is subject to change so it is recommended that kits are kept in school.
Please check your child’s bag regularly for letters and ensure that reading books are in school each day as we try to read as often as we can each week.
Spellings will be given on a Friday and need to be practiced for a spelling quiz the following Friday. We will be practicing in school but it is important that the children practice as much as they can at home each week.

Our topic this term is SPACE! We're having so much fun learning about or solar system and lots more!
What a buys first week we had getting to grips with our Space topic. We helped Mr Smith to think of ideas for our role play area, which is a stace station! Then we painted planets with Ms Sedgwick to create our Solar System. We also got a letter from Spaceman Spencer who asked us to find out some information about the moon. We used the tablets to find our research and wrote a letter back to him.
As we are learning about Wind in the Willows, our reading corner is Ratty's cozy parlour! Over the last few days, we have started our new maths topic about shapes and begun to decorate Ratty's living room ready for Christmas. The paper chains took real teamwork but we enjoyed it! We've thought about what shapes all of these decorations are and we've even written some Christmas cards for Ratty, some from us and others from his friends Mole, Badger and Toad. We are looking forward to making some more decorations for ratty and finishing our letters to Mr Toad about his terrible driving!
We've been on an Autumn walk, collecting things to go into our Autumn pod in the classrom. We found lots of different sizes, shapes and colours of leaves and sticks, berries and a few feathers. We linked this to our science work about everyday materials and thought about the properties of the things we had collected using key science words such as hard, soft, bendy, rough, smooth and lots more!
